Ute Lodge, Cabins, Fishing & Horses
888-414-2022
All tucked away at the end of the road. The Ute Lodge is surrounded by National Forest, at the base of the Papoose and Ute Creek trailheads. Bring your horses and ride into the Flat Tops Wilderness of the White River National Forest. Autumnšs brilliant colors and the bugling of the Country's largest elk herd make fall a spectacular time to visit. Fishing our private stocked lake does not require a fishing license, and you may keep and eat your fish! We also offer private fishing guides, and can teach fly casting. Cabins range from one to three bedrooms. Prepare your favorite evening meal in a modern kitchen. Each cabins has it's own BBQ grill and picnic table. After listening to the crackling campfire, the bubbling Papoose Creek will lull you to sleep each night. Our "Old Baldy Yurt" is an original Mongolian mobile home gone high tech, it has the feel of a cabin with coal stove for heating and a propane stove for cooking -- hike or telemark ski into the backcountry and enjoy the solitude and your family. We offer horseback riding for all ages and abilities, from our hand led pony rides for the youngsters, to a day long jaunt to the high Flat Tops or a secluded trout lake. Pets, children and groups welcome. Location: 30 miles east of Meeker on County Road 8 - follow the signs. 888-414-2022.
