Elk Creek & Lake Fork Marina's on Blue Mesa Lake

Blue Mesa Reservoir is Colorado's largest body of water, and is the largest Kokanee Salmon fishery in the United States! Blue Mesa Reservoir, located in the Curecanti National Recreation Area, is located in Western Colorado between Montrose and Gunnison at an elevation of 7,519'. Formed by damming the Gunnison River, Blue Mesa Lake is one of the three reservoirs formed from the Gunnison River. Also located in Curecanti National Recreation Area, the other two reservoirs are Crystal Reservoir and Marrow Point Reservoir. The area is filled with beautiful mesas, deep narrow canyons, and fjord like lakes. Covering 41,972 acres, the park brings over 960,000 visitors each year. One of the best deals in the state: there is no entrance fee.
ELK CREEK MARINA: Located 15 miles west of Gunnison, Colorado, Elk Creek Marina is a full-service marina for the fishermen and boaters on Blue Mesa Reservoir. Services include daily and seasonal slip rentals, boat rentals, guided fishing expeditions, a boaters store and gift shop, a gas dock, and a boat repair facility. 970-641-0707.
LAKE FORK MARINA: Located 25 miles west of Gunnison, at the reservoir's west end, offers daily and seasonal slip rentals, boat rentals, guided fishing, and a boating store and gift shop, and a gas dock. 970-641-3048.
PAPPY'S RESTAURANT: Located next to the Elk Creek Marina, Pappy's is a local institution, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, with Sunday Brunch. Serving pasta and American cuisine with a magnificent view of Blue Mesa Lake. 970-641-0403.

BOAT RENTALS: No boat? No problem! Both the Lake Fork and Elk Creek Marinas offer a variety of boat rentals, including 16, 20, and 24-foot pontoon boats, 16-foot fiberglass runabouts powered by a 50HP engine, and 14 and 16-foot aluminum fishing boats. We have over 40 boats at the two marinas for rental. Full and half-day rental customers may call in advance for a reservation.
SLIP RENTALS: Lake Fork and Elk Creek Marinas have over 250 slips available for rental, including 16, 20, and 30 foot lengths. Note that many of our slips are taken by seasonal customers and they go fast. Call us for availability.
